Website Accessibility Statement
Ymgyrch Achub Ysgol Llanystumdwy is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.
We are constantly working to maintain the high standards of accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines.
Web Accessibility Initiative
This website endeavours to conform to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 wherever possible.
These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people and Ymgyrch Achub Ysgol Llanystumdwy is committed to that goal.
W3C Standards
This website has been built using code compliant with W3C standards for XHTML and CSS. The website displays correctly in current browsers and using standards compliant XHTML/CSS code means any future browsers will also display it correctly.
Design
The website is CSS based. No frames have been used in the design of this website. Tables are not used for layiout purposes, however they may be used to present data on some pages.
Text sizes
Text has a relative font size which means you can resize it at any time if you want to. You can use your browser settings to alter text sizes to suit your viewing preferences.
Navigation aids
For those using screen readers there is the option to skip past the navigation
to the content on each page. Link text is written to make sense out of context.
Many links have title attributes to describe those links in greater detail.
Internal links generally open in the same browser window. Some external links
open in new browser windows - these links are accompanied with this image
.
Access keys
This website does not use access keys because we believe they can interfere with access devices. A very informative article on the Nomensa website (www.nomensa.com/resources/articles/accessibility-articles/access-keys.html) discusses the reasoning behind our decision not to implement access keys on this website.
